The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of MBSR on the psychological dimensions such as the level of mindfulness, the quality of sleep, anxiety & depression in cancer patients. Korean version of MBSR program (K-MBSR) produced the more significant results in reducing the level of depression and pulse rates compared to the psycho-education group and the waiting-control group of the Korean cancer outpatients in the university hospital. The follow-up results after 3 months suggest the MBSR patients practice regularly the meditation techniques learned in the program at home and the possibility of long-term effects. These findings suggest the urgent inclusion of meditation programs in the healing process of the cancer patients. (Korean J Str Res 2013;21:263∼274)
