This study was conducted to examine job stress, sleep quality, and fatigue and identify major variables that influence work engagement in order to develop an intervention program for shift duty nurses to enhance their work engagement.
The subjects of this study were 170 nurses working with shift duty at one university hospital and one general hospital located in G city. Data were collected from February to March 2018 with structured questionnaires, and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression.
The mean scores of job stress, sleep quality, fatigue, and work engagement were 3.87, 1.57, 4.64, and 2.36, respectively. The work engagement was negatively correlated with job stress, sleep quality, and fatigue. The most powerful variable influencing work engagement was sleep quality and the model showed explanatory power of 22.5%.
The results of this study indicate that the quality of sleep is most important factor affecting work engagement of shift nurses. This study suggest that it is necessary a variety of strategies in order to improve the quality of sleep and to intervene in job stress and fatigue, eventually lead to enhancing nursing performance.

The aim of this study is to verify the effects of EDT on stress, fatigue, sleep and HRV in nurses. The study was a quasi-experiment using nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design.
Experimental treatment was to contact EDT 3 points on the body surface. EDT touch used the first fingerprint of the thumb for 3 minutes on the frontal branch of superficial temporal area, 3 minutes on the facial area, and 4 minutes on the axillary area. EDT was applied 10 minutes, twice a week for 5 weeks.
Data were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 program. As a result, stress, fatigue, sleep, and HRV were statistically significant difference in both groups.
EDT can be used not only for nurses’ health maintenance and promotion but also for independent nursing intervention at clinical practice.

The purpose of research is to identify the factors that influence Social Network Service (SNS) fatigue and usage satisfaction within hyperconnective society.
In study 1, a survey was carried out to 365 participants over the age of 20 to access their level of SNS fatigue. In study 2, 69 participants over the age of 20 are asked to complete an online diary for 7 days. Measuring criteria consisted of personality, loneliness, self-concept, social comparison, conversation topics, satisfaction from SNS conversation, positive and negative emotions.
In study 1, women compared to men and participants in their 30s rather than in their 20s indicated significantly higher level of SNS fatigue. Also, personality characteristics such as high neuroticism, low agreeableness, deprivation in self-concept, and frequent comparison with others indicated higher level SNS fatigue. In study 2, Communication topics such as casual inquiries, idle talk, information sharing increased the degree satisfaction; however, counseling and work related issue did not show any significant correlations. Also, a group recorded highest positive emotion on the online diary reported to have higher number of intimate off-line interpersonal relationships and significantly higher satisfaction with them.
This suggests that the degree of SNS fatigue and other psychological status are influenced not by its degree of usage but by individual’s personal characteristics, communication topics, and off-line interpersonal interaction.

This study aims to investigate the relationship of workplace to family conflict, fatigue, recognition of health status and health enhancement behaviors in the subjects of middle aged businesswomen, and to analyze the factors to affect their health enhancement behaviors. The subjects of this study were 152 middle aged businesswomen from 40 to 64 years old who lived in South and North Choongchung Provinces, and their data were collected using by the survey form. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression with stepwise method. The variables with the highest influence to the health promotion activity of middle-aged working women were fatigue 16.0% (β=−.319, p<.001), family type 2.2% (β=−.163, p=.031), and work-family conflict 1.8% (β=−.181, p=.033) and it was found that these three variables explained 20.9% of health promotion activity. There needs to be plans to lower the levels of fatigue and work-family conflict that is known as predictive factors of health promotion activity of middle-aged working women as well as further social support for subjects who do not live with their family. In addition, it is required to establish the simple exercise facilities in the workplace so as for the middle aged businesswomen who hardly spend the time to enhance their health so often. Moreover, the atmosphere of the workplace should be organized to increase the perception and the practices on the health enhancement by sports for all that can be simply practiced in the workplace without specific facilities.
